Murder has seldom been so elegant and so boring. Based on the famous Agatha Christie novel, this is a murder mystery set aboard the famous title train. Albert Finney plays the Belgian detective Hercule Poiriot (he of the "little grey cells"), who is investigating the murder of an American (Richard Widmark). . .and everyone's a suspect! The absurdly overqualified cast includes, well, like 85 actors. Somehow Ingrid Bergman won an Oscar, even though she's only in it for like 15 minutes. It's fun to see all these iconic actors together, but none of them have much to do. Directed, blandly, by Sidney Lumet ("Serpico," "Network"). Peter Ustinov and David Suchet would also play Poirot.
