My first impression was that the recipes weren't "diet friendly". But after reading the intro and looking at the ingredients she uses, it's clear that her purpose isn't to give you really extreme weight loss, but to rather give you the recipes for the food that most people love, but with small changes to help them fit into a healthy diet and to lose weight gradually over time. Also her intro is very on point with what you would be told by a dietitian, so it's very different from one of those quick, fad, diet books. I have tried a few recipes so far I have been very impressed with the flavours (the slow-cooker jerk tacos recipe is my fav!). So if you're a lover of food and want to make changes to your diet while still eating delicious food then this book is for you. If you are looking for a quick way to lose weight then I would suggest more of a fad diet book or pairing this book with a lot of exercise.
