I really don't know why I continued reading after the first one. I guess I may have been just a bit curious to see what happened to Maeve and the falcon. I feel like if I knew the history that inspired this book, I would enjoy it more. There weren't any major events (in my opinion) and I didn't find the plot mystifying at all. It seemed like the author just tried to take a history book on a girl and add her own spice to make it less boring. The romance is pretty drastic, and I would not read this if I was a huge "true love and happiness" person. I really do hope that this author's other books are better, or I may have just given up on them. - @Siri of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
