You really have to like actor Gary Cooper to enjoy this war picture.

Gary Cooper was one of America's finest actors, and "Sergeant York" is my favorite of all his movies. It is not easy to take on the role of a real American War Hero. Gary Cooper gives a performance of the common man who is just trying to do the right things in life. It is an all star cast with Walter Brennan and Ward Bond playing significant roles. John Huston helped write the screenplay and the writing is excellent. There really isn't a flaw in the entire movie. It is a thing of beauty and a National Film Treasure in my book!
