Deep racism, discontent and a show of undeniable courage of one mans encounter against insurmountable odds. I am humbled...

This is a good bio film to watch.
It surprises me to this day how much Black Americans were so despised, put down in the social order, and that point of time.
How this figure Jack Johnson managed to cause all of America to hate him just because he was better than a white man was at professional boxing.
Though the movie was a little long for my taste it was very informative.
Perfect for the classroom and for private viewing as well.
I gave it 5/5 stars.

This is a well constructed bio film that surpasses just a sports legend in boxing. It not only dramatizes his life story but gives an overview of the times that influenced his philosophy of life. I was especially interested to learn of his Chicago connections. What a truly interesting and colorful (no pun intended) life!
