Just last week, June 2019, NPR and NYT did an update on the appallingly tiny settlement made to these families whose lives were destroyed by fracking. This the personal story of a single mom who starts to investigate why her son is sick and why their farm animals are dying. It is heartbreaking as she realizes that even her community will will turn on her when it comes to challenging the lies of the industry regarding the radioactive and toxic chemicals used in fracking.

It is tragic that greed and dishonesty, it's right-hand-man, have such a stronghold in this country. Read this book. It is an eye-opener.

This is an AWESOME book.
It TIMELY because it addresses fracking, a big issue in america (and the world) today. The latest update on this true story (included at the end of the book) occurred in January 2018.
At the same time this is a timeless story of money, power and greed in america hurting and silencing the poorest and most powerless and vulnerable in our society that have little or no voice. I am a Seattle attorney who sees first hand that this story plays out again and again in America and the world. While the fact that this story plays in an endless loop is maddening, it is even made even more so by the fact this endless loop was designed, created and perpetuated by our country's businesses and state, local and federal governments. This system is NOT a coincidence but was carefully conceived, built perpetrated and maintained by america's businesses and governments who spend a LOT of money and resources trying to build on it to further victimize powerless american's and create still bigger profits.
I dare you to read this book without getting angry.
