Great read. A "can't put down till finished" story. One of the best books I've read in a long time!

I picked this up on the spur of the moment, and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a grim post-apocalyptic tale, told in well-crafted prose.

Most surprisingly (to me, at least), the story is about the plight of women, from the point of view of women. But written by a man. Is it compelling? Does it ring true? I cannot possibly tell. But I am eager to read others' opinions.
