This was a very good mystery set in Ireland. Written well and included many interesting facts. Bog people, archaeology and murder....you can't go wrong. I will be looking for more mysteries written by this author.
Interesting mix of archaeology and murder. Well written and a great read
Very enjoyable and well written. Archaeological info was interesting.
Wonderfully moody and interesting book. An old mystery and a new mystery expertly interwoven . Lots of interesting information on "bog people"--bodies almost perfectly preserved ,after hundreds or thousands of years, by the right combination of temperature and content of the bogs (in this case Ireland) This is fiction but bodies have been discovered in Britain and Europe when the bogs are harvested for heating fuel. Sometimes they are preserved so well that they can tell what the person injested for dinner thousands of years ago! The follow-up book "Lake of Sorrows "is good too. Fans of this book may also like "Crossing Places" by Ellie Griffiths.
