I am giving this movie a full 1-star because Theron and the brunette girl were hot and I loved the retro music. However, the rest of the movie was rather boring, so meh.

This film was well crafted and shot by director David Leitch (actor, stuntman, stunt coordinator, writer and director), based on the graphic novel series 'The Coldest City,' (written by Antony Johnston). The main character finely acted by Charlize Theron (Promethius, 2012; Mad Max: Fury Road, 2015; Kubo and the Two Strings - voice, 2016; The Fate of the Furious, 2017; Tully, 2018) and one of the producers of the film.
Fine performances by supporting roles, from James McAvoy (X-Men: Apocalypse & Split, 2016), and Sofia Boutella (Kingsmen: The Secret Service, 2014; Star Trek: Beyond, 2016; The Mummy, 2017). This felt like a good combination of any spy film previously seen, such as Salt (2010) or the Jason Bourne series (2004 - 2016). Good action sequences that felt integral to the character and espionage lifestyle of the Cold War in Berlin, Germany.
The fight scenes were well done and felt organic, with the long shots and continuous action sequences with Charlize Theron doing much of the stunt work herself.
There is some worthwhile bonus material on the DVD, as they have interviews by various members of the team, along with the director, and the main actresses and actors.

Loved it! This was a fun movie to watch.

A decent spy thriller that is worth a watch. There are some fantastic fight scenes in the movie that really blow away other movies and set this one apart. The story is good and although this particular time period has been beaten to death with movies this one does some different things that make it worth a watch. It has a decent pace to it but the amazing fight scenes make the rest watchable. With a female protagonist this story has something different than most other spy thrillers set in the same period. Overall a good movie and worth a watch if you have the time. -@sweaterz of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board

The action was good, everything else was kinda meh. Charlize Theron was awesome in her fights/action scenes though.

Fast-paced with an excellent physical and emotional performance by Charlize Theron. There are double-crosses with double-crosses against the backdrop of Berlin as The Wall comes down. Spycraft meets the Matrix style of violence. Excellent late 80s/early 90s music soundtrack.

This is a cool rollercoaster of a spy thriller, with a superior performance I thought from James McAvoy. It may not be entirely academic for the period (see "The Lives of Others" if you haven't), but the action sequences are really visceral, both Siouxsie Sioux & Depeche Mode made the soundtrack, & you do get a feel for the cultural flow & complexity of Berlin at the time. At one point a man approaches Broughton in a bar & she snarls at him, "I'm not speaking German tonite." Among a few other moments the ending *really annoyed me, but it's still overflowing with badazz style & choreography, & she's a hero with a heart. Bonus material: IKEA lamp fight...!? CR

Lorraine Broughton: I've read your file. I've also read your dog file. So let's cut the crap, shall we? This whole hungover, show-up-late, don't-know-which-way-is-up act, I'm not buying it. I trust you about as far as I can throw you.

David Percival: "It's a double pleasure to deceive the deceiver."

Lorraine Broughton: Niccolo Machiavelli. It was on your shelf.

David Percival: Oh my God, I think I f*cking love you!

Lorraine Broughton: That's too bad.

Gone fxcking feral. Berlin is the Wild West. If that bloody wall comes crashing down, we don't want to be under it. If the Russians get that list, we're all buggered sideways.
===

If it'd make you more comfortable, I could stand behind the mirror with everybody else. But it's a little crowded back there.

===
We were just going over your file. I see your Russian is excellent. An expert in escape and evasion. Proficient in intelligence collection and hand-to-hand combat. It's an impressive set of skills. Knowing the Reds as I do, she'll need to use every damn one of them.

Without that list, why shouldn't I take you outside and shoot you in the fxcking head?

You know those movies where the picture just starts to slow down... and melt? Then catch fire?Well... that's Berlin.
===
You know, I've been in Berlin a long time, and I think I know every doorman of every decent shithouse, borderline decent flophouse both sides of the wall.

It's like walking a tightrope or playing the bagpipes. You can either do it or you can't.

You expose this bastard, Satchel, and we'll hang him for treason. You might find yourself taking tea at Buckingham Palace.
