This book of poetry is always hilarious and creative, and by turns irreverent and wise. There are poems that must be seen on the page to make sense, such as "The Duel", while others are clearly performance pieces, like "The Sweetest Lullaby Ever (For Parents to Sing to Their Children)". Overall it's a fantastic feast of fun wordplay that reminds me of Jack Prelutsky and Shel Silverstein, although in my opinion Chris Harris outdoes Prelutsky's poetry in creative variety and Silverstein's in cleverness, helped along by Lane Smith's awesome illustrations. Definitely worthwhile, although some parents may want to preview first simply because there's quite a few disrespectful attitudes. (However, Harris is by no means undermining parental authority, as anyone can see who has read "The Last Time I Went Down to Breakfast Without Making My Bed".)
