It is wierd, they Library said this book's genre is non-fiction, but that doesn't make sense because after skimming through it its total fiction. How is this non-fiction. This couldn't ever succesfully happen in real life.
Also BETTER DEAD THAN RED!!!!!
BETTER DEAD THAN RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol most of the comments on this board are pretty hilarious. This, of course, is worth a read if only for its historical significance, and its lasting effect on present-day discourse is hard to miss. All people should read this, if only to decide what they think.
Marx should not be taken as a philosopher as much as a dialectic. His writing is a lens through which we can analyze, deconstruct- we can use him to make sense of things. Marx and Stalin had nothing to do with each other. Marx was the kind of thinker that comes around once every century or so, and an authoritarian murderer of a ruler who used socialism/communism as a means to ascend to power should not be conflated with this brilliant thinker. And whether you disagree with Marx or not (I often do), he is brilliant.
There are tons of online resources that help to make sense of Marx, e.g. podcasts or youtube series. Most of what I've seen has been accurate and very helpful, especially anything David Harvey is involved in. If you're looking for an intro into Marx, give him a search.
THE BEST BOOK I'VE EVER READ THIS DESERVES TO BE OUR TRUE FORM OF GOVERNMENT!!! LONG LIVE RUSSIA!!!
The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx is a propaganda manual that is embraced by the left that includes Barack Obama,Hillary Clinton & Bernie Sanders, to name a few. This propaganda manuel is also embraced in American society through education & healthcare. You should read this propaganda manuel to understand why America is where it is. FDR probably got the idea for social security and other failing government programs from this book.
I would rather read the unabridged addition of War and Peace, again. This was the biggest load of rubbish I have read since the Book of Mormon. I trust the state even less than I trust the oligarchs and big business. However as a member of the proletariat I am not happy that I will most certainly have to work as a wage and debt slave until I die. So I do believe something needs to change but I am not nearly smart enough as to proffer an opinion on what that would be. Mayhap Winston Churchill was right when he said, "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others." However I would argue that we no longer live in democracy or a republic, but more like an oligarchical, military imperialism, wrapped in the guise of a phony duopoly.
a rape manual
we defeated the Ruskies in the cold war, and coke in the cola war.
Weather you are a fan of Marxian Theorism or not this book perfectly sets the premisis for many great nations the USA included. Without Marx, we probably wouldn't have many of the programs we have currently (Medicare, medicade, public schools, etc...) Which as we hate to adknowledge are socialist. And as we know, Socialism is an offspring of Marxian theorism, though I would like to quote Karl Marx, "If this is Marxism, then I am not Marx." I think this states that at the date of the creation of the quote, nobody had properly interpreted his original document, Das Kapital. I recommend that after reading The Communist Manifesto, you all read Das Kapital (now Capital) or vice versa because The Communist Manifesto is really a summary of Das Kapital as hardly anyone has the time or capasity to read the multiple volumes of Das Kapital.
