This book was informative. I read it as a teenager and I learned a great deal about people of African descent and their relationship with their hair on the African continent. I am looking forward to reading its newest edition.

Interesting, though sometimes repetitive and clumsily written (too often the authors make a statement and then write, "For example...."). Sometimes reads like a senior thesis.
