They all worked for the war machine! Only Kennedy resisted, and for his trouble had his head shot off! 'Liberal, Conservative, I AM THE WALRUS' For God sake read someone with some sense, like Peter Dale Scott, or Harrison Livingstone, or Philip Nelson. Or keep your head in the sand. Who Put All Those Things In Your Head?* She Said, She Said.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................Man You Shoulda Seen Them, Kickin' Edgar Allan Poe.........................................................*From Beatles' lyrics from REVOLVER album: originally, Lennon wrote, ' Who put all that shit in your head?' But, obviously, you can't get a #1 album with bad words like shit on it? Can you?

Anyone who has actually read this book will find the people responsible for this war were pretty much the ones we've suspected all along. Kennedy and Johnson of course, but McNamara stands out. Had our involvement not been the result of keeping worthless allies like France happy, wishy washy leaders like Kennedy, Johnson, and their guru McNamara, we probably would have come to the accurate conclusion that the South Vietnamese were not willing to fight for their own freedom and we could have saved countless lives. Liberals will have a hard time facing up to the fact that Democrats were behind the wheel on this one.

Looks like I have to wait a while, but I'm eager to read this analysis. Every war demanded and imposed on us by our elites, beginning with Korea, has ended with our defeat, after horrific suffering for us and also among those we were ordered to invade, especially civilians. Each war began with a catastrophic warmongering plan. Were the plans all similar, or each one different? The description here of blundering, greed, ignorance, and arrogance looks like the nightmare of W. Bush's invasion of Iraq with even worse, if that's possible, consequences.
