This author is capable of better.
I like romance books because they always have a happy ending. This one was disappointing for me.

Another wonderful installment in Brockmann's Troubleshooters series. I love the blend of WWII storytelling interwoven with modern military/counter-terrorism adventures - especially knowing that this book was originally published in September 2001. Stan and Teri are both awesome characters, even though it bordered on painful to watch them dance around each other at times. Sam and Alyssa's story just keeps breaking my heart, but it's still oddly satisfying. Likewise with Max and Gina. Brockmann's pacing, as always, is excellent: plenty of suspense and heartfelt moments (both romantic and platonic), and it never feels like it's being shoved down your throat. I'm looking forward to the next book, Out Of Control.

It was only fitting, Mother said, that this ring should go to Hershel's bride.
