Better than the first! A small complaint: Diamond has an unreal way of convincing people to his way.

Great book. I had read some of Lovesey's books and enjoyed his writing. Thought I would go back to his early books. So glad I did. The writing superb, the interplay of characters was great. Very much enjoyed the Diamond character and now wish to pursue reading the other books in this series. Definitely a read.

I read about the Diamond series because a new one was recently published. I thought I'd go back to the beginning I didn't like the first one all that well--I found it slow. But perservering I read this, the second. And I really like it. The author has hit a stride. I feel like I'm just getting to know Diamond, but what I know I like. And I look forward to the next.
