I feel sorry for this girl, because of her shallowness. This book can be put in the level of secular gossip. She tries to expose herself as more profound human been, not like in her usual environment, spending her life in endless parties and social gatherings. But she gets it at the level of a teenager. Almost on every page she mentions about how she put aside her Manolos stilettos for Aerosols shoes, which are absolutely not respected by rich New Yorkers. Tries to prove that her desire to work in the funeral business is caused by the desire to understand death and alleviate the suffering of deceased's relatives. But in fact, it turns out that for her the organization of a luxurious funeral for “Manhattan money bags"; this is another of social events, such as dinners, lunches, holidays...
In addition, she describes some things that are happening inside this business, in particular Crawford funeral home, which in reality is a Campbell, which is not tactful and is not loyal- to reveal to the whole world some details, thereby damaging those who stayed to work there, even if the names were changed. Of course, according to the customs of her multimillionaire environment, before the publication of the book, she reserved a lawyer.

Just be prepared for the author's holier-than-thou attitude. At first it is abrasive. When you come to realize that she has a rather accurate view toward her privileged life and lack of understanding for the lower classes, it's easier to enjoy. No matter her income or advantages, she's still a young girl who lost her father and wants to help others in their time of grief.

WONDERFUL book!!! Thoroughly enjoyable, Ms. Meyer has a lovely acerbic humor that's very entertaining. Her style is low-key and dry - and in no way dumbed-down for our low-class sensibilities. What fun - this is one I will be re-reading a few times I think.
