I'm so confused now! I don't know who to root for anymore: Christian, or Tucker? I mean, in the last book it was obvious that Clara and Tucker were going to get together. But with Tucker's absence in this book, an increase in the amount of Christian time, and that big fight and almost resignation at the end that the two should go their separate ways, makes me question who exactly will Clara be with in the end? Will Tucker have a happy life with Allison? Will Clara follow her mother's footsteps until she no longer can, fighting her destiny? Or will she accept Christian and end up falling for him?
OH! SOOO! Margaret's story was finally told! Her purpose though was literally to get married and have kids. Seems exactly like the stereotypical 50's housewife dream (which Margaret lived through... maybe that could've contributed to her dislike of it?) She fell in love with a Triplare, who got killed. Had some kind of sympathetic relationship with Samjeeza (who I think will become one of the main characters in this next book. It's just a hunch, but I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up helping Clara for some reason. I actually kind of felt bad for him which was strange.) And ended up married to Micheal (the angel (oh crap!!!!) aka Clara's father... she's three-quarters angel!) But then she dies! At a hundred and two years old, she fades throughout the book until finally she lets go and literally runs to heaven where she can live in glory and with Micheal.
A lot of emotions throughout this book.
Also, I think Jeffrey is turning dark. He is always angry and raging, his purpose was to set the fire and save Tucker (which Clara screwed up for him. But seriously, why didn't he just speak up about it? Then everyone's purpose could've been fulfilled.) And now he has run away. Great. I'm hoping there is going ot be a way to save him, and that he can accept his life.
Billy is going to be an awesome guardian, Angela is so great, and having her, Clara and Christian go to Stanford is gonna be exciting! I can't wait! But I also don't want it to end!

Fantastic follow-up to Unearthly. A lot better than most 2nd books in a series. Looking forward to book 3, rumoured to be released in January 2013.

actually a pretty good book! love the fact that angels are involved..... when did society come to the point that no book is good without a love triangle... like its come to a seriously cliche idea.. kinda annoying that the girl has to choose between the 2 boys....

I really do enjoy the twist on these books! It closely relates to life. Therefore, I enjoy it all the more. I enjoy a book with action, yes, but I can't stand the unrealistic stuff. Now saying that doesn't mean I don't like vampires, demi-gods, werewolves or so on, because I do. What it is with me is the feel, tone, mood, and theme have to be realistic. As well I do enjoy a realistic setting. This book has a realistic theme, I believe. I enjoyed this sequel very very much. However, some parts were a little bit annoying. It's difficult to explain... :/

For months part-angel Clara Gardner trained to face the raging forest fire from her visions and rescue the alluring and mysterious Christian Prescott from the blaze. But nothing could prepare her for the fateful decisions she would be forced to make that day, or the startling revelation that her purpose—the task she was put on earth to accomplish—is not as straightforward as she thought.

Now, torn between her increasingly complicated feelings for Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker, Clara struggles to make sense of what she was supposed to do the day of the fire. And, as she is drawn further into the world of part angels and the growing conflict between White Wings and Black Wings, Clara learns of the terrifying new reality that she must face: Someone close to her will die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning.
