'The Other Side of Darkness' is about misguided religion, a woman's decline into mental and spiritual illness in the name of faith. The dark and intense storyline is illuminated with flashes of love and wisdom as the protagonist's friends and family try to help her. A false prophet appears in the form of a narcissistic priest who is only too happy to take advantage of the woman's vulnerability. This novel can be enjoyed by Christians and non-Christians alike and gives us valuable insight into a dark path that some of us may even have been on ourselves. What is that light at the end of the tunnel -- daylight or flames? Read the book to find out!
