Best friends, Norval and Arnie, are playing their last year of high school football, and both of them are looking for scholarships. Arnie has been acting a little strange, and people, including Norval, are starting to worry. Full Impact by Suzanne Weyn is a good book and an interesting way to teach kids about concussions. It gives a lot of information from looking for symptoms to dealing with them once they happen. The story has a few holes, including the fact that full-contact, high school senior football players have only vaguely heard the word concussion, but is entertaining nonetheless. With good dialogue and fun characters, this book is definitely worth the read for elementary school readers.
