This is the second book by Elizabeth Chadwick I have tried. Now on Chapter 16, I have the same criticism as I did with Castles and Strongholds. She starts slowly, and the story takes patience. The book continues the saga of Fulke Brunin that began in Castles and Strongholds, but it is easy to follow by someone not familiar with the previous book. As in the earlier story, her main female character is a strong, admirable personality, and the historic details are fascinating.
