predictable twists and puns, but very enjoyable as bus reading, or whenever you have time for 3 pages. would be good to read to people who are ill

Mundane, unwitty, and boring. If you're alive and alert, you've experienced most of this stuff and the things she writes about are not really even laughable, or mostly not even worth a chuckle. I read one of her other books and it was worthwhile...the others not so much so.

Not her finest but it's Readers Digest, after all.

Not sure the last time I read a book in one day. It is not a big read but I just couldn't put it down. Good stuff!

This is a gut-splitting collection of short pieces that were originally published in Reader's Digest. They are observational humour columns about everyday life, from moving to a new home, buying furniture, going on vacation with family, shopping, and more. Many episodes feature Mary's husband, Ed, who clearly has as dry a sense of humour as his wife. People who were near me while I read this tended to move away because I was laughing so loud and so much. It was an absolute blast to read!

Easy reading from an entertaining author. I liked Packing for Mars the best of all of her books so far.

Very funny observations by Mary about minutia that baffles all of us in everyday life.

A good collection of short snippets of daily life. A fun, and entertaining read that is perfect for a commute or when you only have a few minutes.
