You know that saying about how sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug? It's true. Take me, for example. I shook the Georgia dust from my feet fifteen years ago, vowing never to leave Manhattan. I traded sweet tea for Chardonnay, fried chicken for nouvelle cuisine, lazy days on my aunt's front porch for ad campaigns and board meetings, and the guy who broke my heart for my handsome boss, who soon became my fianc?e. Perfect, right?

I am not much of a romance fan. The story was not what I really expected given the description. Cassie was extranged for 15 years, I expected a bit more of a story line coming to terms with the estrangement. Joe hardly featured in that part of the story. It was predictable. The story line with Sam was also a bit off, although he was very likeable, I thought it was a little weird for him to have liked her for so long and expect her to return the feeling quickly when she has been gone (and leading such a different life) for so long (as well as give up a highly successful career). I found the ending to be a little contrived.

Very much a beach read. This is not my favorite of her books; however, I read them all. Folly Beach and The Color of Light I adored.

I don't usually do romance books but I really liked this one. It's a bit "Sweet Home Alabama" in its predictability but I enjoyed it anyway. Sweet characters, tinged with love and tragedy. I might check out more from this author.

Loved this book and the way the writer writes. Recommend very much.

Her descriptions of everything were so detailed and wonderful. I cried when anything tragic happened and I yelled at Cassie about how stupid she was. The Book was believe able and I fell into that world. It's one where I was kind of happy and very sad to reach the end.
