This novel by the late Robert Stone is considered his masterpiece. One time journalist and now reporter in Vietnam, John Converse, is seeking a way out of the Vietnam when he arrives in America. He gets involved with his old cohorts and new friends as well. A drug deal gone terribly awry and hangers on who would like their first taste of danger congregate.
The novel takes you from Nietzsche and nihilism to narcotics and surprises.

At its finish, you will find that the book is a classic of 1970's American Literature.
