I was quite surprised to be greeted by a long list of over thirty different types of material in the first few pages of the book. I always wanted to know those differences and what each materiel is, so right away I liked this book. My opinion of the book only grew as I read on. The step by step pictures and diagrams included easily showed me how to alter patterns, take measurements, create a straight edge on your materiel and many other things. I plan to buy this book sometime soon so I don't have to request it, wait for it, and return it too soon.

This took care of what I needed.
I was surprised at how understandable it was. New clothes are on the way :)

Great explanations and illustrations for new sewers - far less complex than the Reader's Digest Sewing Guide that I use. It's a bit difficult to discern all the alteration subtleties due to image sizes, but look closely and you should be able to find the intended alteration.
