Quite possibly my favorite book out of the whole series. I wish I could personally thank Brandon Sanderson for pulling this series out of the toilet. The last book that Robert Jordan wrote you could tell he was either just trying to stretch it out as much as possible or was personally lost in where to take the story. Brandon had a very hard job of tying up alot of side stories and a crazy number of characters. I can understand why he actually needed to create a new "major" character "Androl Genhald" out of a fairly minor character.
Having both read the book and heard it on the CDs I found that it provided two very different experiences - both positive though.
I will admit though that you have to eventually wonder how Matt's army or the Trollock army still has any people left.

I had to drag myself through this book in order find out how the series ended. There were too many additional characters that I had trouble keeping track of. I actually liked the ending,

I wasn't expecting 900 pages of war between dark and light. While the end is okay, time could have been better spent and I lack motivation to read the rest of the series. 3 of 10 stars

I would like nothing more than to say that this book was great, wonderful, fabulous, and worth the 20 years I've spent reading the Wheel of Time.

But that wouldn't be true.
To be fair, the series started going downhill after book six for me, and I kept hoping Jordan would pull it together. KoD was the first positive glimpse in years, and then we all know what happened. I think Sanderson did a pretty good job with GS and ToM.
To our chagrin, AMOL doesn't cut the mustard.

This book is 900 pages long (or 33 discs on the audio book.) Most of what I can remember is Trollocs, Sharans, and exhausted forces of the light trying to counter 5 to 1 or 10 to 1 odds. And it goes on and on and on and on. By the time i reached the half way point I was already saying, they can't still be fighting the same stupid trolloc army can they?
There were a total of 3 moments that I enjoyed. They mostly dealt with self sacrifice.

It is an Unbearable read, or listen, and the end is a huge let down.
I am so disappointed!

That said, if you've made it this far, you will read this one. But don't get your hopes up! It is, as they promised AN ending.

At least I never have to wait and hope about this ever again.
