I believe a teenager might enjoy the superficial cardboard cutout characters in this Woolard tome. The plot moves right along and the discerning reader could probably learn a little something about POW camps during the Civil War, about Morgan's raid, and not much else. Told from the perspective of a 17 year old I suppose there's not a lot to be expected in terms of insights nor original thoughts and experiences. Unfortunately, if a reader believes this book is ok anything written by Louis L'Amour probably qualifies as the Great American Novel.
