(5 stars) The books in the Dark-Hunters series just keep getting better! Susan makes an awesome heroine: smart, skilled fighter, brave, and compassionate. She's always willing to step up and help, but she can take helpful correction too. I love Ravyn too, even though it's a little hard to believe how quickly his compassion for Susan (and eventually others) suddenly turns on, the fact that she has opportunity to earn his respect early on helps. Stryker's code of honor is interesting, and I'm looking forward to seeing how things develop with his new secret weapon. And Satara is a bit of a mystery. I think I've figured out who she is, but things have obviously gotten jumbled over the past couple of years if that is the case. *Refers to print edition*
