I appreciate the clear language, hearing about specific things that have worked, and learning some new (to me) legit options for observing and communicating with and beyond anxiety. Anxiety can destroy an otherwise good day and at its worst an otherwise good life. Thank you for all the info and ways to “ACT” through to the other side. Sharing with a particular family member as well.

Excellent reading choice to decipher personal values, how to include bigger picture goals and shaping an abundant fulfilling life. Very practical, insightful and doable.

This book is great for those who are new to the basics of a healthy mind and therefore healthy living.

This book is a more Western based version of self awakening, although you most likely wouldn't see that if you read the book and have not read many Eastern books on spirituality etc.

I did find the writer to be lacking in self-confidence though. He even mentions how he was overwhelmed by anxiety when he got permission to start writing the book but didn't start until 4 months later. I would figure if you are going to write about something you would want to be absolutely confident with the knowledge you wish to pass on.

Overall a great guide for societies like ours.

Pretty much the only things I don't like about this book are the title & cover art :-) This book came along at just the right time for me, really breaking down some of the concepts I've been learning about re: defusing anxious thoughts and making room for difficult emotions. I identified with the concept that our minds have negative thoughts running through them all day because they're trying to help us be vigilant and survive all the scary wilderness predators. One of the most useful ideas of this book for me so far has been the awareness that, in modern life, these kinds of negative thoughts aren't necessarily always helpful, so it's OK to just "thank" your mind for looking out for you and then move on, letting negative thoughts be but not buying into them or putting excessive energy into them unless they help you be and do what you really value.

Having read most of the ACT books, this one is the one. The breakthrough in understanding how the self exists and helped me within minutes of reading certain sections. This will be the first ACT book I can read and reread and truly use it. Truly ACT...
