Normally, a movie would be based off of a novel, but for this, it was the other way around. I found the story alright, but there were some questionable decisions peppered throughout this book. I do like the concept of a protagonist who just cannot get used to western living conditions in the late 1800s, and makes a lot of rash decisions because of his contempt. And for the most part, what’s going on is actually interesting.
The problem is that this book tries to be as ‘adult’ as possible, by cramming a lot of swearwords, drug references, and sexual terms in it. You can’t go two pages without seeing the f-word pop up. With all that said and done, this book deserves a 2.5 out of 5 and a very cautious recommendation.

I once passed a kidney stone. That was funnier than Seth MdcFarlane.

Try as I might, cannot find an appropriate adjective that begins to describe ... watching grass grow would be more interesting!

It's not terrible, but it's not great either.

I found this book to be just okay. It was a predictable ending but with a twist to get to it, very much in Hollywood fashion. It was funny and quirky. It was just okay.

Absolutely hilarious!!! Fans of MacFarlane's work will not be disappointed and will most likely find themselves laughing out loud while reading this book. Can't wait for the movie!
