Kittle takes a long, hard look at the institution of marriage through the eyes of Cam, a middle-aged veterinarian who is blind-sided when her husband leaves. Many characters are absolutely cliched, yet others are surprising, both to the reader and to Cam. As in life, and in the debate surrounding this age-old expectation, Kittle does not tie up the loose ends. This would make a great discussion title, as Kittle poses many real and heart-wrenching questions.

Readers who enjoyed the exploration of relationships will also like Neil Abramson's "Unsaid", which also features a veterinarian.
