If you're a 20-something working and living in New York City, you're living the dream -- right? Not if you're Jennifer Baggett, Holly Corbett, or Amanda Pressner. The trio of friends -- wondering if the paths they were on were the right ones -- left their apartments, jobs, and boyfriends to embark on a year-long adventure around the world, visiting more than ten countries on four continents, including Peru, Vietnam, India, and Australia. Though there are difficulties (could you hang out with your two besties for a year without getting on each other's nerves?), there are also a lot of amazing experiences, such as traveling down the Amazon and volunteering at a girls' orphanage in Kenya.

The three women who wrote this book took months to plan their trip (which was really trips as they returned to New York at least once each during their travels), they preplanned a lot of it, their travels took them to South America, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia. They took their laptop, blogged about their travels, Skyped with people back home and generally kept in pretty good touch with everyone, including a few get-togethers with friends and family along the way.

For anyone who loved 'Eat Pray Love' and are looking for a similar adventure that will sweep you away, this is the book for you. I thouroughly enjoyed travelling the globe through the eyes and stories of these girls.

Although initially I found it hard to keep straight which author was writing which chapter (I had to continually remind myself) and to keep their stories straight, its a great summer read.

Pick it up and enjoy the vacation!

A memoir written by three friends who decide to leave their lives in New York City behind and travel the globe for an entire year. Wonderful descriptions of all the places and people that they encounter throughout their travels. Funny, heartwarming, and very informative. Recommended for armchair travelers.
