this book is amazing... I love how Julie berry adds so much detail and I love the goat named dog, he is such a great little guy. I just wish that Lucinda gets married to prince Gregor in the end. too bad there's not a second book, definitely a fabulous book, would recommend to anyone who loves fairy tales :)

I didn't realize until over halfway through the book that this is a retelling of sorts of Cinderella. It's a great fairy tale. I read it in one sitting without stopping because it was intriguing and a very quick read. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes fairy tales.

I loved this book! A honest to goodness real fairy tail without all the vampire and werewolf garbage that so many of the authors today tarnish their books with! I loved the characters and although I wished that in the end Lucinda would end up with Peter instead of Gregor it was still a pretty good ending.

It's alright. I hated the "love at first sight", and thought that the plot seemed a little...boxed in, I guess. It would have been better if Berry had expanded a bit more on a few parts of the story. A little boring in places, but an okay read altogether.

I read this book a few months ago, and I simply adored this book. It's creative, exciting and romantic.....
Lucinda Chapdelaine is a girl whose parents disappeared when they left for a royal ball. She lives with her kind uncle, but also under the watchful eye of her aunt. While in her uncle's jewelery shop, she meets a mysterious woman who orders a chain for her humongous jewel. Lucinda finds out that that women was the Amaranth Witch. And Lucinda's relatives say that the jewel must be returned or they will be cursed.
Unfortunately, she meets a thief in which she takes into her home, but is thanked by the disappearance of the jewel! Lucinda finds out that the ominous thief sold that jewel to the Crown Prince.
She unexpectendly befriends friends from the unlikeliness of places and takes off on a quest. On the way, suspenseful events happen that bring Lucinda into a swoon. Is it possible for Lucinda to complete her task without being caught in a web of love? Or will she lose her friend forever?
The Amaranth Enchantment is a creative book. Although, I don't really like the "love at first sight" thing, but Julie Berry's work on the Amaranth Witch is stupendous.
