I like the characters, the setting, and the main character's career. Anxious to read book 4 & 5.

This is the first one I have read in the series, and I can see I have missed an awful lot. Very enjoyable reading. The difference between this book and most of the other cozy mysteries I have read lately is that these 40 something women do not act as if they are stuck in junior high. I love the more mature adults who have real jobs, are not overwhelmed with the trivia of life, and still find time to solve crimes. :-)

Especially enjoyable is that Lila is trying to understand and become close to her mother--who by all accounts (at least in this book) a life long mystery and slight embarrassment. While Lila is still convinced she was the perfect mother, she has just started to discover her mother has always loved her as much as Lila loves her son.
