Although the book continues the story of characters in previous Mass Effect books, there are LOTS of mistakes. If you really want to read the story, I suggest doing it before you check out the list of errors. See how many you can spot without cheating. I also didn't like where it took the story as a whole and where it leaves things. If they do 'fix' the errors, I hope they fix the ending as well.

don't waste time on this book right now as the errors in it are so numerous it isn't funny. wait on them to release a new updated version of it...
"
Following fan concerns about Deception's numerous errors BioWare and Del Rey Books apologized and announced that changes would be made to future editions of the novel. Information about the release of the updated editions of Deception is pending."
