You'd think being a Prince in a vast intergalactic empire would be about as good as it gets. Particularly when Princes are faster, smarter, and stronger than normal humans. Not to mention being mostly immortal. But it isn't as great as it sounds. Princes need to be hard to kill--as Khemri learns the minute he becomes one--for they are always in danger. Their greatest threat? Other Princes. Every Prince wants to become Emperor, and the surest way to do so is to kill, dishonor, or sideline any potential competitor. There are rules, but as Khemri discovers, rules can be bent and even broken.

I first read this last year, but recently decided to read it again and I looooved it all over again. I like the fact that it was a story that fit within one book, what with all the series/trilogy type books that are coming out lately, and still took you on an adventure.

this book is very good.

Set in a time where inter-galactical travel has been opened to thousands of inhabitants from Terra Firma, A Confusion of Princes definitely brings out some interesting plot twists on top of a creative new world.

Another great read by Garth Nix. He truly creates a world in every novel that is both believable and interesting. The basic idea and goals are nice, with good character growth and movement.

The story and the concept was interesting enough at first. Until I realized that it was going to go through all of his lifetimes. And then the story gets to the crucial point. Really well done and surprised to see it end as a romance. Worth the read.

Absolutely beautiful story, but only to be expected from Garth Nix. He's a god, I swear. A surprisingly good plotline, despite my doubts in the beginning that it would be nothing but boring recountings, especially since it takes place over a very long course of time. Beautifully portrayed theme of what it means to be human. Recommended with all my heart.
