Agnes Moorehead has so much 105 year old makeover on that it is difficult to determine that it's her in the film. Occasionally one gets to hear her signature squeals. Robert Cummings plays the amiable handsome young man caught up in a dark gothic type house with convoluted mysteries that sometimes seems overwhelming. See it, especially if you like Cummings. A bit of trivia - Moorehead's first two films, Citizen Kane and The Magnificent Ambersons, are considered to be among the best hundred films ever.
