Booorrring. Couldn't even finish it

Not as good as I was anticipating it to be and I would by far recommend the book over the movie.

As a Christian myself I find this true story of Lee Strobel's journey a compelling look at how threatened he felt when another man (Christ) entered his wife's life and he had to share her affections, but to his credit as an investigative reporter looked at all the evidence as to the truth behind her new life.

Compelling and viable story. Not a blind faith situation, but a scientific fair trial of the good book.

An atheist reporter, whose wife becomes more religious when a Christian lady saves their daughter from choking, investigates the existence of Jesus. Though based on a true story, you can pretty much write the rest yourself, based on movie tropes: atheist is a rude jerk, atheist indoctrinates child and doesn't let her think for herself, emotional conflict with wife: "what if you're wrong?!" Self-described cynical journalist who asks "the hard questions" investigates, by speaking to Christian scholars almost exclusively, and asking no hard questions. Much note-taking and nodding. Revelation that atheist really believes in God, but a childhood trauma and a desire to live a hedonistic lifestyle (wife, child, useful job -- sure sounds like hedonism to me) won't let him admit it. Atheist converted by simple truths, or strawmen. Hugs. Credits. The acting, writing and 1970s and 1980s decor are above the usual standard (Faye Dunaway -- what happened?), but overall this film is of little interest to the average viewer. A prequel to The Case for Mohammed.

Comments and Quotes disappeared a few weeks ago. No idea why and how. Anyway, second try:

For those wanting elegant and forceful arguments on Christianity vs Islam and atheists, this docudrama is a powerful arsenal. As the credit rolls, the real Strobels and now grown up daughter were introduced all to become Christian best seller authors. There were a fire hose of material that probably should have more screen time... or read the book(s). The DVD included 11 videos which are worth watching and listening. Also learn about the soon to open Bible museum in Washington DC as well.

1. 1998 - The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus by Lee Strobel
2. 2014 - The Case Against the Case For Christ: A New Testament Scholar Refutes the Reverend Lee Strobel by Robert M. Price, Frank R. Zindler
3. Museum of the Bible is an innovative, global, educational institution whose purpose is to invite all people to engage with the history, narrative and impact of the Bible.

This is the best Christian movie I've seen. The acting and story line are top notch. It explores the struggles that Christians and non Christians have in life. God's love is real and the Bible is true. History proves the truth.

I believe if the book is read first, then any movie that is made based on it will be more easily perceived. The book is a good read. The dvd is okay and somewhat predictable. It portrays the trials of a unequally yoked marriage very realistically. Overall well worth the watching. I suggest that you read the book first. You may get so much more out of the movie after reading the book. I am grateful the library affords us the opportunity and access to both books & the movies! Only God is awesome!

Good Christian movie, never give up praying for people.

This is the best faith based film I've ever seen. While not high budget, the story was great, the acting was very good, and you could see the tension a spiritually mixed marriage can bring. I highly recommend it. I'd also encourage you to read Lee Strobe's "The Case for Christ" if you're interested in the evidence for Christ either as a believer or unbeliever.

I'm afraid there's a long line of skeptics in front of you with that hypothesis. Including only a billion Muslims the world over who also don't believe that Jesus died on the cross because the Koran says so.
-With all due respect to Islam, the Koran was written six centuries after Christ.
Do you really want to know the truth? When is enough evidence enough evidence?
I felt something that is maybe more real than anything I've ever felt in my life.
One of my heroes was C.S. Lewis, a man who began as a skeptic, much like yourself. At the end of his journey, you know what he said? He said, if Christianity is false, it's of zero importance. But if it's true, there's nothing more important in the entire universe.
All right, God. You win. (Only this single quote in IMDb as of now.)

“Before you go, may I ask you something?
It's about your father. I'm just curious what your relationship with him is like.
- Um... Complicated.
Let me guess. Distant, cold, doesn't give much affirmation or express love?
- Guilty on all charges.
Why? I imagine, as a skeptic, you're familiar with history's great names in atheism. Hume, Nietzsche, Sartre, Freud.
-Of course, yes. Some of my greatest heroes. Did you know that all of them had a father who either died when they were young, abandoned them, was physically or emotionally abusive? In the world of therapy, it's called a father wound.
-No, I... I was not aware of that. But with all due respect, Dr. Waters, I did not have a loving father, but that doesn't mean that I have a problem with those who do. What I have a problem with is some made-up loving father. If God was real... I could accept that He loves me. I just don't believe He is.

I get that you want this to be true. But what if it's not? Wouldn't you want to know that before you've dedicated your entire life to it?
-Of course. But what if it is? What if it is true? Wouldn't you want to know that? There's a verse that says... faith is the evidence of things we can't actually see. You believe what you can see and touch and feel, and I feel this. I can see it. I-I know it.
There is no "what if" with God.
Churches aren't perfect. Pastors aren't perfect. I know I'm not. But that's not God. That's people. God wants to be your Father. To love you until you know His promise of Heaven. Because this is the simple truth of our faith. God made us. We messed things up. Christ paid for our mess, and all we have to do is receive Him. It really is as simple as that.”
