Pretty much a wanna be Alien 1 movie that even uses the same music from the original the only problem is the characters are just a bunch of Star Trek Red shirts waiting to be killed you care nothing about them. Nothing was answered or continued from Prometheus. This movie makes Prometheus look better. Bad CGI. We get to see the continuation of the artificial person David not sure if he is just down right evil or misguided. In this movie he just seems down right evil. Pretty much you can tell what the outcome of the movie a mile away when they introduce another artificial person who wait looks like David but his name is Walter. This movie is just a lazy sequel to Prometheus that does nothing.

I enjoyed this movie all though I thought it was little B movish at times I enjoyed though.

I fell in love with "Alien" and "Aliens" with the kick ass Ripley character. Wasn't expecting this to be a great movie but it turned out to be a painfully slow bad movie. Why in the world did they assume it was safe for them to be on this planet without protective space helmets and gear? They didn't know what air contaminants there might be? The minute I saw who the mysterious man in the hood was I knew what would happen. It's sad that such a original premise has been reduced to awful sequels.

As someone who grew up with the "Alien" franchise, this has changed drastically with the previously installment with "Prometheus." This is more (or less) a retelling of what happened to the people they found in the previous installment, while trying to create such a convoluted plot that not even writers, producers or Scott himself could fix it or make sense of it! Instead, they plan to explain what theoretically happened in the next installment. This movie is rather straight forward and the actors are pretty lifeless. Still, it deserves some props for it's attempt at a convoluted plot, it's better than most of the drivel out these days.

I wasn't a fan of the movie. I wouldn't even consider it a horror movie either. It was slow and quite boring of a plot (that did have potential).

Shame! Shame! Shame! on 80-year-old director, Ridley Scott for foisting this $97 million SyFy turd on us (his audience).

You know, this film has completely convinced me that Scott is nothing but a senile, old boob.

I had thought that Scott had scraped the absolute bottom of the barrel with Prometheus - But, no - Alien: Covenant actually manages to sink even lower into the manure than that.

The only surprises that this prized piece of junk had to offer to the viewer was to prove, over and over again, how really-really bad it was.

I can only hope that this utter garbage is the very last of the Alien sequels - But, I'm certain that there's still some more poop coming our way in the next few years.

And, finally - Speaking about actor (ha!), Michael Fassbender - Next to the likes of that airhead, Tom Cruise - I think he's the most despicable, no-talent, little creep of all.

This is the Alien prequel we needed. This finishes tying the story from Prometheus together to the main franchise. As a stand-alone movie, it's well made, insightful, and it has great special effects. And as always, Cumberpatch is incredible.

How did the Alien franchise go from scaring the shit out of us to boring us to death? I remember the first time I saw the first one, I was a kid. As an adult I still don't like horror movies but have come to like the franchise for the most part. But this crap is just so emo. Beautiful effects, terrible android who just won't stop emoting all over the place. Ugg.

“In space, no one can hear you laugh.” How was this different from the other Alien movies? Seems like they went through a lot of special effects and a new cast to do the same thing. Oram, (Billy Crudup) was a horrible captain. Kathleen Waterston (Daniels) can’t hold a candle to Sigourney Weaver. The aliens, same as before, vomit icky black stuff. Bad Science. Michael Fassbinder is like Jon Hamm with a British accent and a form fitting space suit. The aliens are like the walking dead without clothes that click instead of growl.

Along with “Prometheus,” this film scratches the bottom. While there are some nice landscapes shots and the ships are pretty neat, it really just tries to rehash the original “Alien” movie (which is one of my favorites and, IMO, the only good film Ridley Scott has made) sans the strong leads.

Many quotes in IMDb. This is from prologue:

Walter: All these wonders of art... design, human ingenuity... All utterly meaningless in the face of the only question that matters. Where do we come from? I refuse to believe that mankind... is a random by-product of molecular circumstance. No more than the result of... Mere biological chance. No. There must be more. And you and I, son, we will find it.
David: Allow me then a moment to consider. You seek your creator. I am looking at mine. I will serve you, yet you're human. You will die, I will not.
