Is she the perfect daughter? A perfect autumn day in Boston is shattered when four family members are viciously gunned down in the comfort of their own home. Still missing is the sixteen-year-old daughter, Roxanna Baez. Witnesses report that she took the family's two dogs for a walk shortly before the shooting. Was she lucky to have escaped the carnage? Or does her absence speak of something more sinister? Or is she the perfect suspect? Sergeant Detective D.D. Warren is on the case -- but so is survivor-turned avenger Flora Dane. Both are baffled by the tragic end of a family that once had a troubled past but was now on the road to redemption. As the search for Roxy heats up -- and crime scene leads to crime scene -- D.D. and Flora must race to solve the riddle of one family's innermost secrets while examing the baffling clues left behind by a young woman who, whether a victim or suspect, is silently pleading: Look for me.

Lisa Gardner delivers another creative, compelling and scary thriller with LOOK FOR ME. The creative part of this book comes from her use of looking at the events of the story through 3 different sets of eyes. There is a 3rd person-story which follows Det. D. D. Warren and her colleagues as they attempt to solve the murders of four family members. There is a 1st person-story which reintroduces us to Flora Dane, a victim from a previous novel who has now formed a sort of support group/skills training program for survivors of kidnappings and all that goes with experiencing that kind of crime. Dane is also apparently sort of a one-person vigilante who takes on perverts and perpetrators when she finds them. One of the members of Dane's group, Sarah, has been in touch with a terrified teenager who happens to be the fifth member of the family that was murdered - and a suspect in their murders. Dane, with Sarah's help, sets out to find this teenager. The third set of eyes is a set of 1st-person essays written by the missing teenager describing what life has been like like for her family and siblings through the years. As a thriller this is an awesome book. But, as with a lot of Gardner's books, it works around the ugly, underbelly of our society and some of the really tough issues out there. In this case, we get glimpses of brutal murder, kids bullying kids, foster care, family break ups, addictions, redemption, and sexual perversions. The book was a "can't put down" book for me, but you best be prepared to encounter some serious emotional touches. There is some hard stuff in here.

In this new book in the DD Warren series she teams up with vigilante Flora Dane who we met in book #8. Looks like she might become a regular in this series. The main plot is who killed a family of 4? Themes include a dysfunctional family, child becoming the parent, being failed by the foster system, teenage rivalries. Nothing amazing or outstanding, but Lisa Gardener mysteries are always written in a way that entertains and keeps the pages turning.

Loved it!! Couldn't put it down.
