We've had many corrupt leaders who were correct about particular topics. I think you are missing the point of the book. He's addressing Particular and Specific Issues. On the issue of the dangers of big government, Aaron Burr obviously foresaw the nightmare we now live under! Your one little point is missing the big picture. Then to draw a conclussion about the author that you do is simply absurd.

This book was written by a complete whackadoodle, and a completely historically inaccurate misinformation spewer! ! !
Aaron Burr was a soundrel and criminal of the first order, which was why Alexander Hamilton was so against him!
When I was in college in the D.C. area, researching a paper at the Library of Congress, I happened upon the copy of the utility legislation Burr created for New York state, which had some most devious and clever clauses inserted throughout by Burr, granting Aaron Burr sole power to charter any and all banks in New York for perpetuity!
Un-frigging-believable!?!?!? Which led to the ending of friendship and partnership when Hamilton discovered this! [Remember, this was only supposed to be concerning water utility in NY.]
The politician writing this must be hopelessly corrupt. . .
