I loved this book, the stories are rich & filled out, leaving you to ponder exactly why Reacher is the way he is. Classic Lee Child.

The first season of the show will be based on the first Jack Reacher novel, The Killing Floor, which finds Reacher going toe-to-toe with the Aryan Brotherhood.

For Child’s part, he was always oddly critical of Cruise’s casting, saying he was physically wrong for the role. I dunno man, I saw both Jack Reacher movies and had no trouble believing Cruise could kick ass.

An engrossing collection of Reacher short stories.
More hard-hitting and intriguing than many of Lee Child's other full-length and often overly detailed novels.

Each reader has his or her own tastes. For me, I found these short stories more enjoyable and engaging than many of the novels. Succinct, free of minor plot complications, and with an economy of language that kicked the story line along. I personally would rate this a " must read" for the Childs audience.

I liked the first few books but I did not read them in order (but I think I approximated the order). In the later books, the bad guys are just crazy 2-d figures who do horrible things to people - like really, really despicable things and he gives them a quick, clean death. If he is going to such great lengths to make his bad guys so completely bad, he should have them die a horrible death - but that is not Reacher's style. I think i read about 20 of them because I was sitting with an ill relative and there was nothing else to do. There is only one I want to read and that is the one where he smashes a general's head into his desk leaving a dent for others to marvel at.

I thought that short stories would not be able to do justice to Reacher's prowess; however, much to my surprise, each of the short stories in this collection was complete and just the right length. I would almost go so far as to say the short stories are a better platform for Reacher than a full length novel which tends to get repetitive. This collection starts with Reacher as a boy and continues till he is 'retired.' Vintage Reacher.

5 are previously published novelettes as ebooks or bonus in earlier novels. Other than the new entry, “Too Much Time,” the rest are short adventures that spanned over the course of hours to a couple of days during the big guy's aimless travels over the years. More Reacher "secrets files" from the past please.

Some good, some not so much but a nice way of showing us the young Reacher without reverting to endless flashbacks in his current novels. I have given up on Child due to his sell-out to Hollywood by allowing Tom Cruise to portray Reacher-a giant portrayed by a midget, go figure, the dollar reigns supreme.

This collection of short stories is a lot of fun to read. I particularly enjoyed the ones about young Jack Reacher.

I just love Jack Reacher, and this book didn't disappoint. Fast paced and action packed. A whole lot of ass kickin packaged in these short stories. Five stars from me!!
Lee has a new Reacher novel on the way called "Midnight Line: a Jack Reacher novel". Better put your hold request in fast because there's only 25 copies on order at the library.
