Grateful for this important book on an important artist. I think the author and illustrator may have taken some liberties portraying Louise Bourgeois' childhood, but definitely the family tapestry business influenced her perception and artwork. I first became aware of her work when her spider sculpture was displayed in 2002 at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio.

I didn't realize when I put the hold on this book that it was for "young readers." But I imagine the prose seems too poetic to maintain the interest of young readers. And too light for adult readers. A slight volume.
