An incredible work. An almost absurdly difficult yet beautiful work. Godowsky wanted to show all the different "musicalities" that were hidden inside Chopin's Etudes. Some real gems are ones that were arranged only for left-hand. One of the reasons Leopold Godowsky arranged these works his was to show that the left hand was especially suited for melodic lines because of the natural extension of thumb toward the treble-end of the piano keyboard. My two favorite pieces from this collection are: [Track 2] No. 2: D flat major: 2nd version from Étude in C major, Op. 10, No. 1 -left hand –and– [Track 14] No. 13: E flat minor: Étude in E flat minor, Op. 10, No. 6 -left hand.

If you give this incredible music careful listening and your full attention, you will be rewarded.
