Charlie Henry, former Special Forces operative and newly minted pawnbroker, thinks that he's finally turned a corner and the quiet life he's always wanted is just ahead. But then a young Navajo man shows up at FOB Pawn, claiming that his girlfriend mistakenly pawned a family heirloom--a beautiful turquoise necklace--and she desperately needs it back. Charlie is skeptical: no claim ticket, no exchange. When the same young man returns with reinforcements--and guns--it's clear that there's more to his story than a family treasure. The necklace quickly becomes the focus of a case where no one seems to be telling the truth, and every question seems to be answered with gunfire. With the help of his semi-estranged brother Alfred, Charlie finds out that the necklace is the work of a recently killed Navajo silversmith. And while highly taboo in the Navajo culture, it appears that someone has robbed this man's grave. With multiple parties vying to get their hands on the necklace, it's up to Charlie and his comrades-in-arms to find out who's telling the truth and uncover the mysteries that the heirloom holds.
