Everyone should take time out of their respective routines and watch this film carefully. The line between life and death is one we all must cross at some point, and to watch how these five people face death, ready or not, is important for everyone to think about. This issue is handled with a clear, respectful eye and is admirable in its lack of subjective commentary and its balance between personal and procedural/medical viewpoints. It wasn't as difficult to watch as I'd expected, and gave me a lot to think about, especially about assisted death, quality of life and my own future as time marches on. The lasting impression I'm left with is how life can be here one moment and gone just as quickly.

Extremely powerful documentary. Allan King probably is one of the best documentary filmmakers. In this film he manages to show all intimate detail of last days of cancer patients... but it seems that their privacy is not invaded. It's done with a great respect to their lives and death...
