The scariest thing about this film: what was true then (wage war on the U.S.A., lose, and get financial relief under the Marshall Act) still holds true today. It's part of the Trump Appeal (HELP US, YAHWAH!)

I found this more enjoyable than the last time I saw it—which would have been 11 o’clock by nuclear Armageddon. It’s great how the humor is played sweet and gentle throughout, except that they’re carrying around a Q-bomb, the one you don't want to accidentally drop. Probably a viewer should be in the mood for ‘Mouse.’ It may be that one had to have been an adult during the period to appreciate how odd of an idea it was to make an atomic weapon a prop in a comedy. There is an incidental resemblance to ‘Dr. Strangelove’ in that Peter Sellers plays 3 parts (albeit they are calm, gentle characters).

Rated 5/10. This 1959 movie just doesn't stand the test of time to be as funny as it probably was back then. I found this to be only very mildly humourous now. I had seen it many years ago. The best part for me was seeing William Hartnell before he played Doctor Who.

Clever and amusing. Sellers is wonderful.

Peter Sellers at his best. The California wine industry magnates imitate a wine from the smallest nation in the world and put them out of business, for which they declare war. Soldiers wearing mail and armed with long-bows invade NYC and manage to catch them during an air raid alert so nobody's about. The capture a hydrogen bomb, a general, a scientist who invented the bomb, and a lot of NYC police, return home declaring themselves winners of the war. Everyone agrees.

Humorous nostalgia well worth a watch.

I didn't know what to expect when I got this movie but I was pleasantly surprised. The unfolding of events is hilarious. Watch this before the library gets rid of it!
