Scenery is great, and that is the main reason l borrow this movie. Story is poor. If truly based on actual events, l would baldly ask the writer to face the reality. You cannot separate love from life. And you cannot separae life from food…

Watch it when it's dark, cold, wet and rainy out and it will lift your spirits. I cried in places. Not because it was sad either. Love the Fellini and Italian opera references.

Beautiful movie! Diane Lane is irresistible as Frances Mayes, a heart broken divorcee restoring her life and searching for love in a foreign land, which happens to be one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Very good movie. I'm more of a Star Wars and/or Star Trek fan, so this is not normally the kind of movie I watch, but I enjoyed it and my wife loved it. Very funny.

It’s one of my favourite movies. It’s a movie of hope and wishes come true, set in a beautiful land. The movie uses some cliches and stereotypes, but it is not racist if you have more than the surface knowledge of Italian history.

Racist.
Wait for the scene where a German couple wants to rent the house. They are sterotypically depicted and called fascists. By a woman in Tuscany no less. Hmmmm where was Mussolini from? That good ol' Milano boy.
Avoid.
