"To live is to fight," she snaps. "To preserve life is to fight for everything that man stands for." An imaginative, heartbreaking, terrifying, and intense possible outcome of human invasion on a distant planet. I don't mean in an armed…

Book 2 of the Chaos Walking series. It picks up right where Book 1 left off, right in the middle of the action. Todd and Viola have made it to Haven, but so has the army chasing them. Mayor Prentiss takes the city with the Noise. Haven…

Just like the first book, this one is a page-turner. Although it's classified as YA, this book transcends that label. It is definitely a series that anybody would enjoy. Very well written and hard to put down!!

"After being captured by the Printess army in Haven, Todd only thinks about Viola. A cure has been created for the Noise, but it was quickly taken by the Mayor. The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness is about the events following the end…

This was my favorite book in the series!!!! The intro is the best opening to book I've ever read, I swear I could hear the intro music playing like in a movie and I got chills reading the first chapter. The rest of the book does not…

I personally thought this novel was almost as good as the first book in the series. ("The Knife of Never Letting Go") We really see a change in Viola in this novel. She steps up her confidence levels, and really becomes a wonderful leader.…

The second installment in the Chaos Walking trilogy does not disappoint. Another reviewer had mentioned that this trilogy, and The Ask and The Answer in particular, are great novels for better understanding civil war and terrorism. They…

I LOVED the first book.... BUT.. this one... I guess I just didn't feel it. I gave up on it halfway through.. it was just plain dull.

The Ask and The Answer is the second book in the Chaos Walking series. The events of this book take place almost immediately where the first book, The Knife of Never Letting Go, left off. Todd and Viola have been captured by Mayor Prentiss…

Unlike many second books in a trilogy, which exist to get the reader from point A to point B, The Ask and the Answer is even stronger than the first book. Everything ramps up in intensity. The stakes are higher. The conflict is more…

By far the best book in the series. The ask and the answer brings you so much closer to the characters in the book. things go wild as you learn more about mayor... sorry president printess. I have to admit I grew close to Davy, a boy who…

Suspenseful and thoughtful YA series that looks at the use and abuse of power in a space colony that seems to be on a path to war.

I enjoyed this book, though not as much as the first. I was confused most of the time who was on Viola and Todd's side and who wasn't. But all the way through I couldn't put it down.

I enjoyed this book as well, though not as much as the first of the series, or the short story New World, which got me started on the novels in the first place. I liked the contrast in the switching of perspectives - they were written…

Patrick Ness has done it again- a thrill-ride of a novel, YA but with very human themes for deeper adult understanding, veins of current socio-political issues deftly woven through an action/adventure story. I read it in 3 days, and it…

I almost didn't read Book 2, because I was so angry at how things went in Book 1. However, I'm glad I did. There are so many twists and turns in this book, you just don't know where it's going to go! A great read!
