The Shadow Throne by Jennifer A. Nielsen is the third book in the Ascendance series, and in my opinion, it was an acceptable but far from great end to the trilogy. Carthya is at war with its neighbors, and Jaron has scattered his friends…

Reading the Shadow Throne was really interesting and was mysterious throughout the middle and the end of the book. I loved how Jaron sort of helped his friends but also sacrificed himself in many situations. He never tried to give up and…

The Shadow Throne was captivating. I couldn't stop reading it. I love how the adventures always change throughout the different books, yet, they are all incredibly breathtaking in their own way. I really liked the difference in the…

Throughout this entire book I stayed in a state of denial. Denial that characters were gone. Denial that Jaron was hurting so much. Denial that he wanted to be with the stupid princess. (I've had that denial from the first book. I…

Read all 3 books from this trilogy. Excellent writing, keeps your attention from one page to the next. Jaron is a true hero of the wittiest kind. All sons should be like him. This series should be given to students as study material on…

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD On page 71, I was literally in tears, when Imogen died. I'd only cried reading a book two other times before. It took me along time to pull myself together afterwards, and I almost put the book down, but I'm very…

This was the best trilogy I have ever read because the whole book had a lot of action. It was really sad though because Sage had lost lots of his best friends throughout the chapters but at least they were all rescued. I recommend this…

These books are so much fun; you know there will be a twist, but it still takes you by surprise. I really like King Jaron's character and the way he always has a plan. I highly enjoyed and would recommend this series.

Beyond anything I'd ever imagined! Five stars is belittling for this book. Jaron is as clever and foolish (it seems like a contradiction but as anyone who read the books knows, it's the perfect description of our mischievous hero) as ever,…

Its an amazing , fast-paced and thrilling book with twists and turns that never ends. I think Nielsen really did a good job on the series.

This book was not as good as the other 2 in the series. SPOILERS: I did not like the fact that Conner was loyal to Jaron even though he imprisoned him for several months. You'd think he'd be angry, wouldn't you? And the fact that Kippenger…

Nielsen really dedicated herself to this book. The conclusion was more than I hoped for. I'm looking forward to Nielsen's next book!
