Body Language 101Body Language 101, BookThe Ultimate Guide to Knowing When People Are Lying, How They Are Feeling, What They Are Thinking, and More
by Lambert, DavidBook - 2008Book, 2008
ausnos's rating:
Added Nov 18, 2022
Comment:
Overall this book is quite rubbish. Lambert has disguised fundamental common sense into something otherwise titled as an "ultimate guide". There are plenty of images, which is good, but this book is an absolute no-brainer; a waste of time. Avoid.
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Writing A NovelThe Complete Idiot's Guide to Writing A Novel, Book

Comment:
Monteleone's writing is annoying; he rambles a lot of nonsense, dragging out what should be a painless read. I guess this truly is an "idiot's" guide.

If you are familiar with sci-fi stories, like I am, then you can relate to how I feel about this book: not original and the same old hat.

I've only read volume 2 and already I feel this series has nothing new to offer; lots of monotony. I'm hoping subsequent volumes get more interesting, otherwise I'm quitting.

I'm a really big fan of Indian cuisine, so naturally I gravitate to the recipes in this book. There are quite a few of them that I will definitely make in the future. The write-ups on each Bollywood film was good too.

I have yet to feel any appeal for the story, but the illustrations were typical anime and okay; I did like the Ainu incorporation in it though.

The characters were an excellent contrast and complement to each other; I liked the acting. Also, the story and pacing remained straight and good as well. It was a lovely film to watch.

My review reflects the comparison of this graphic novel to the actual novel itself by the same author. The artwork in this graphic novel is mediocre in my opinion, and it's depiction is about the same. What is truly inspiring are the actual novels themselves, especially told in such a masterful way by Banker. This graphic novel, unfortunately, does not do the novel justice. My review reflects the comparison of this graphic novel to the actual novel itself by the same author. Fantastic! If you're planning on visiting Japan in the future (once Covid is gone and the world miraculously returns to "normal") I highly recommend you read this book! And if you're a die-hard geek then consider this your new Bible. Personally, I have never been to Japan, but it certainly is chalk-full of vibrant creativity, culture, and activity; I love it and wish it was like that where I live...it's so boring here.Fantastic! This book is no joke; it is jam-packed (maybe too much) on such thorough cooking information you'd think it was either a middle school or college text book. I'm serious, it's THAT detailed! There are also some recipes within but they are nothing special. This book is no joke; it is jam-packed (maybe too much) on such thorough cooking information you'd think it was either a middle school or college text book.
